Seven Common Above Ground Pool Questions

 

1. Is it possible to create a deep end in my above ground pool?

Many people mistakenly assume that only in ground pools can have a deep end. Thanks to advances in above ground pool manufacturing it is completely possible to have an above ground pool with a deep end or middle. These deep spots usually only go to a maximum of 6 ft however.

2. What if I don’t have level ground for my pool to stand on?

Unfortunately you will have to do a bit of landscaping to smooth out an area. It is really important to have a level spot for your pool to reside on. In fact, you should arm yourself with a laser level when leveling out a spot for your pool. While moving dirt keep in mind that you should always remove dirt rather than fill in dirt.

3. Do I have a beaded liner or an overlap liner?

One of the simplest ways to determine which liner you have is by checking the outside of your pool. If you see your pool liner then you probably have an overlap liner. If you don’t see a liner then it is safe to assume that you probably have a beaded liner.

4. What is the minimum amount of time I should run my filter for?

In every 24 hour period you should run your pool filtration system for 8 hours.

5. How often does my filter need to be backwashed and rinsed?

Aim to backwash and rinse out your filter at least once a week However, if you check your filter’s gauge and it is 10lbs heavier than normal it is time to backwash and rinse it as well.

6. What is the easiest way to fill up my new pool?

Filling up a pool can be an expensive venture no matter which option you choose. The easiest way is to hire a water hauler to fill up your pool. If you don’t want to pay for that you can always use your hose. However, your utility bill will be pretty steep next month if you go that route.

7. Should I get a round pool or an oval pool? I want the strongest

Round pools used to be one of the strongest styles of above ground pool. However both are equally strong in today’s world because of advances in the pool industry!
